OSHA Final Rule for Crane Operator Certification Requirements

Thursday, November 30, 2017

On November 9th, OSHA issued a final rule setting November 10, 2018 as the date for employers in the construction industries to comply with a requirement for crane operator certification, which is required by the agency’s cranes and derricks final rule. This is an extension from the previous compliance deadline of November 10, 2017. In the intermission leading to this new deadline, employers are required to ensure that crane operators are trained and competent to operate cranes safely.
