Storm Water Permitting & Compliance
In most states, industrial facilities that discharge storm water to surface water or a municipal separate storm sewer system via a point source outfall are required to obtain a storm water permit. PSARA can assist clients with obtaining storm water permit coverage by filing a Notice of Intent (NOI) and/or preparing a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Where industrial materials and activities are not exposed to storm water, PSARA can file a No Exposure Certification (NEC) for conditional exemption under the permit.
Once a storm water permit has been obtained, PSARA can assist clients with the following requirements to ensure compliance with permit conditions:
- Discharge monitoring and reporting
- Facility inspections
- Employee training
- Annual compliance evaluations
