We are seeking a dedicated Class C Water Treatment Plant Operator to manage the operations of three spring water treatment facilities in Bloomington, Indiana. This is a full-time role, with relocation support available. Who you are


  • A Class C Water Treatment Operator license is required.
  • Experienced in water treatment processes, preferably with carbon treatment (no microbial experience necessary).
  • Responsible, disciplined, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate regularly with the program manager on plant status.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting, handling plant issues independently, and responding to alarms.

What you'll be doing


  • Operate and maintain three spring water treatment plants using clarifiers, filtration, and granular activated carbon as the primary treatment technology.
  • Monitor and adjust processes to ensure water quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Respond to plant alarms, addressing issues quickly and efficiently to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Serve as the primary operator with support from program engineers and technicians.
  • Maintain detailed records of operational data, including water quality testing and maintenance activities.
  • Report regularly to the program manager, keeping them updated on plant operations and any issues.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all plant equipment, coordinating repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the plants.
